The Great Northern Way unites visual experiences from 7 Russian regions, from Archangelsk oblast in the west to Chukotka in the east. It faithfully follows the journey of the 17th Century explorer, Semen Dezhnev, whose discoveries carry an importance comparable with that of Ferdinand Magellan, proving the existence of the strait between Asia and America. Reconstructing Dezhnev’s route, the film captures some of the most breathtaking footage ever captured on film.
